Don't let them give you he!! about the colors. They look great. Load the boat up with 15 of your closest friends and you won't need ballast. The X-45 is a great boat. I love mine.

Yeah, and the guy I bought it from did not even care for the TN VOLS. I like the turnbuoy orange, easy to find on the lake.

I really like mine. Great family boat, and when you put the tab down the wake calms down at 18 mph. It's a beast to tow, but once it's in the water you're the King.

What does land go for on Lake Quachita?

Not to hijack the threat, but...I'm about to make the jump to an X-45 (w/the L-18) too...and it's a BIG jump from my FourWinns 194! A big jump in size, power and price, but I wakeboarded behind it on a dealer demo and I'm hooked. As soon as I can sell my 194, I'm gonna make the jump. Someone tell me I'm doing the right thing!

MCX engine with every option less the soap dispenser for the riders. Would prefer the L-18 for the top end speed. All I can get is 38-39 mph. I don't think the L-18 is necessary for what I do...Wakeboarding, Surfing. The MCX pulls harder than my Hammerhead 380 did with my old 21' Bu' out of the hole! All-in-all the L-18 upgrade wasn't worth it for me. Others will have different opinions.

Congratulations on a great boat purchase!

Congrats on the new boat! All I can say that as a slalom junkie, these boats are not meant for what I do. I will also add that I really did enjoy spending time on that 07 "X" that Erk brought to Mania.
Wakeboard, ski, barefoot, foil, I don't care what you do on the water, (besides tubing), it's all good for our sport... ;)
IF YOU DO IT, DO IT BEHIND A MC!!!

Its a core of engineers lake so you cannot have land right on the water. Mtn Harbor is where we are and its cool because you have a semi gated enclosed area where everyone rides 4-wheelers, golf carts ect around on the local roads and down to the many boat docks to get on you boat and go out on the lake. Very nice lake lots of coves and private areas to get to and be alone or rafted up with your friends.

Yeah, I did not start boating until the Mid-nineties got into Wake boarding. Started with a BU sold it and just recently go back into the Lake scene after my son goT a little older. I just sold my Maristar 1994 225 to a guy in the Indy, IN area. I was sold on Mastercraft.....not a better boat built in my opinion. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL SPRING.

This boat is the deal if your looking for big, roomy, comfortable, and still have the ability to have fun on the water. I have the MCX which performs fine. I cannot imagine another 100 hp on the L-18. Carbon Dreams you might check you speedo......I could run 46 this weekend with 4 adults, and 4 children in the boat. Of course my speedo might be off a little also. I will check mine with the GPS next time out. My MCX does fine for what I do. I think the L-18 is 12k dealer cost for the upgrade. I dont have perfect pass but will deceide if the MC cruise will be ok for my doing.

Mine is an '07. Supposedly, it has the high altitude prop on it. Mainly, It pulls like a freight train to 30 then quiets down. Take a look at your prop and give me the numbers. I'll do the same. I GPS calibrated my Speedo on Saturday and it within .5-1 mph all through the range. I really think it has the wrong prop for curising. I would like to buy a cruise prop to go along with what I have.

Oh ya, It revs to 5000 RPM at 39 MPH.

I have the same engine in a different hull, if you are looking for top end speed you may want to look for an Acme 3 blade ... Give Bill @ Acme www.acmemarine.com (http://www.acmemarine.com) a call and see what they have, I just ordererd a new prop to replace the stock 4 blade 13.7 X 15 and according to Erk I may pick up 3mph ... also, what is your MAX Rpm with stock prop?

5000 RPM is it. Right in the middle of the range.

hmmm, I'm suprised you don't get into the low 40's at those RPM's... I only got 4850 (43.3-43.6 mph) yesterday at 2062 feet, anyway, if you live near Spokane and want to borrow the Acme 3 blade this fall let me know and you can try it out and see what you think.

Also, I have heard that you can send the stock prop back to OJ and let them take some diameter out to see if you can get up to 5200rpms and get a bit more top end.

Thanks for the offer Casey. I am in Bend, OR. My sister is in Hayden with a Mairstar 230. I don't get up there as much as I should.

Me thinks diameter vs. pitch is just the wrong combo for top end on this particular boat.

How is Lake Pend Orielle? I've flown over it a ton, just never been on it. Looks like it is pretty open. Kind of a morning or evening lake.

Make the jump you will not regret it. I have the X-45 with the L-18 and a 19.5x22 prop. When I originally bought the boat we used it at high altitudes so I felt the motor was necessary. Now living in the “low” lands I still think it is the right motor for a boat this large. The boat will reach the mid 40 mph range easily but I have never taken the motor past 4,700 RPM. When it is loaded with people and ballast it could use a lower pitch prop

mine with the mcx does 42 @ 4600 rpm with the speedo calibrated with a gps. Am trying to find the additional 400 rpm which MC says is there, but got lost somewhere down the line. Prop is the std 13.7 x 17 OJ four blade. Use the boat at pretty low elevations, so altitude should not be an issue.

OK, here are the Top Speed numbers.

Engine: MCX

Prop: OJ 14.25 X 14.5 Four Blade

GPS on and stable...RPM 5020 yields 39MPH.

Great for wakeboarding and surfing, bad for cruising.

Humpf...gotta get in the 40's somehow...Any suggestions for a second, cruising prop?
