What are you thinkin'? Old classic, new unproven, brand or what have you? Whatever you decide don't leave your roots! We are here my brother, and we have gas!
PS That was the baddest looking engine I have ever seen! I'll bet that would do serious power turns around the idle bouys!

Eric is the fazzizle snizzle. Even the new owner of the X7 commented on Eric. His words verbatim "I have been looking at all the brands for some time. I got it narrowed down to Mastercraft and Correct Craft. I really liked one of the CC models almost as much as the X7/197 but gravitated to MC because of Eric. He just knows so much more about the product and seems eager to help me out. "

Jeff thanks for driving to Chicago MC for us. It was nice to meet you and your family. Erk did a nice job of setting everything up, and did not misrepresent the boat in any way. We were not dissappointed.

The reason we bought an X-7 was because for our family it was the best crossover boat. In the last year I looked at all major brands of boats and found CC and MC to be the best made IMO. ERK had me test drive an X-7 earlier in the year. No other boat handled as well, again IMO. It became the boat we compared everything to. We seriously thought about a CC SV211, which seemed to be the best wakeboard/ski crossover boat. But, I was missed the handling and ski wake of the X-7 so we decided to choose a ski/wakeboard crossover. The X-7 and X-9 being the best in that class, IMO. The X-7 is the perfect size boat for our lake.

The reasons we bought Jeff's boat was the boat was super clean, had low hours, had all the options we were looking for including the MCX engine, Erk knew the boat and its owner and vouched for them, it was at a fair price, and Chicago MC seems to be a very reputable dealer, which will provide all the service and support we will need.

Also I am new to this board, but have already learned a lot from searching through the posts.

Thanks for the welcome. Man you all respond fast!

We already some family boat rules

1) No shoes allowed (or dirty feet)
2) No food allowed
3) No drinks allowed except water (and except for Dad's occasional beer)
4) All users have the honor to clean the boat, and it should indeed be considered an honor.
5) Skier/wakeboarder/surfer gets to pick the music

Well, When I was driving the boat, I followed the water rule, thats all I took aboard. I didnt take any food on, and I had no shoes on it either. BUT, I completely disregarded your rule on the music. when I drive a boat, I choose the music, and the music is NONE! I need to concentrate on the driving and safety of the skier. I dont like music blasting when I am driving. that annoyed the he11 out of me when I was driving the X-star. thats why I kept turning it off.

Jeff, I hope you didnt tell him about Hoosier puking in the binding blaster tank....;)

I think I did leave out the part about Hoosier's love for starboard side. Steve had his family w/ him, I wasn't sure it was appropriate to tell of Hoosiers fetishes. :D

Congrats on the purchase.
Jeff's boat is the 2nd (mine being the 1st, of course) cleanest boat I have been privy to ride behind. Enjoy! :steering:

Jeff,

Sorry to break up this manly chat of yours, but I wanted to move in on Erk's territory and show you this item. You may have already seen it. I've heard you are in the market:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-MASTERCRAFT-PROSTAR-190-330-HP_W0QQitemZ270038473522QQihZ017

If you buy it, do I get to smell the coffee or actually drink it? ;)

I should have known. I never said I was a salesman, but I was trying to be one and failed. I'll just stick with computers and let you sell the boats, erk.
