Can someone provide instructions on how to post a picture in a thread?
There was some instructions on FAQ but is this the only way....seems complicated?

Did you read this? I had trouble but finally got it with a little assistance from Doug. Do you have a specific question?

Under the last post on the bottom left is "Post Reply" which contains blocks for posting pics, I think under manage attachments where you can download pics, then click on Browse to draw your pics from a file. They will not show up until you submit, not while writing the post or downloading, if that helps any.

They will show if you preview post, though.

There was some instructions on FAQ but is this the only way....seems complicated? It's very easy, but both methods of posting do require that the image be resized - otherwise everybody would be posting those 6 megabyte images right out of their camera.

You'll need some kind of image editing software, resize to about 8 inches wide and change the resolution to 72 pixels per inch. Save as a JPEG with medium compression. With those settings, your images should within the size limits this forum requires. Note that your are more constrained if you post your images as attachments - those files are limited to 146 k in size and you can only post one per message. If you store them on a server somewhere, either your own web space or purchased photo space like pbase, you can have up to 5 per post and they can be bigger.

You need to get it down to a smaller file size. If it's reading the image as a 19.5 K max permissable file size, it looks like you're trying to upload it as a .bmp or .psd image. After resizing and decreasing the resolution to 72 ppi, save it as a jpeg with enough compression to get it down below the 146.5 kilobyte limit that TMC imposes for that type of image file.
