Sorry haven't posted much lately been extremely busy trying to get in as much boarding as possible before the end of season, oh yeah then there is work :(

I noticed this week end when I pulled my boat out of the lake (2006 X2) that water was draining from the drive shaft where the drive shaft meets the haul of the boat. Is this normal? I thought that this was supposed to be a snug and tight to the shaft......

Should I take this into the dealership or is this normal. If this is normal when in the water does water just flow in the boat in the same manner??

I thought i knew a thing or two but this has me alittle baffled.

Is it flowing out when the boat engine is on or off? If on, it's the cooling/lubrication water to the OJ XPC seal on the shaft, which is normal. If off, it may be some residual water coming out of the hose to the seal but that shouldn't be much. Is the boat taking on water while in the water?

Off, I have not noticed any large amounts of water some but not enough to make me worry in any way.

I can only think of three reasons why water would be coming out there if the engine is off: 1. bad shaft seal and bilge water is draining back out 2. Bad seal between shaft log and boat (black aluminum piece the shaft runs through with gobs of silicone around it from the factory) 3. water coming through the shaft seal lubrication hose.

You may try putting some water in the boat bilge while on the trailer and see if it leaks out anywhere.

The water is fine, don't worry about it. I noticed the same thing on my 2007 197 demo the first time I used it.
