The LY6 doesn't come in a powerslot option....standard is 1.22:1.

You'll definetly notice a difference between the LQ9 and LY6. Just don't prejudge the LY6 and give it a good 15-20 hours to fully break in.

Erk, what you meant to say was powerslot (synonomous for "gear reduction") is standard with the LY6 - right

Powerslot = gear reduction of some sort ... not necessarily 1.5:1 ... so 1.22:1 is still "powerslot"

As soon as someone will buy my 06 for sale I will order the 07 with the LY9 (but Jr is probably gonna land the first bite)

So is anything standard 1:1 anymore? If not, when did that cease to be?

PendO

Yes, yes sir :)

Curious what the top end with the LY6 is ... I'm still disappointed with the top end on mine with the MCX 1.26:1 ... supposedly OJ is going to do some work on my prop (take a bit of diameter out) and see if I can get to 5200 (instead of the 4750 I get right now) but I am not sure it will help with the top end, and I cannot find a 3 blade in a 15" pitch splined ...

Well, there is talk of needing room for another car seat, so I may have to table the boat trade in as I am pricing out trading in my 02 Exploderr (before the tranny fails) for an Expedition ... I love my boat, but I just want it to be 2mph faster:) What I should do is sell my 06 and buy your 03 and pay off the rest of my student loans :)

You can get the RTP and MCX in the standard 1:1.

Well, since the hp specs with the ETX manifolds never actually went up, they don't necessarily have to lower them assuming they lose some horses with the CATS.

/just a theory.

I don't know ... and if you did it wouldn't be AWSA approved for tourneys :)

I always liked the idea of going with the 310 hp engine and making up for it with gear reduction (especially when you could get 1.5:1).

/edit. Actually, no MC boat was approved with the 1:1 apparently.

Pendo, on the approval chart (http://www.usawaterski.com/graphics/downloads/2006AWSAApprovedTowboats.pdf), it lists the prop as an OJ 13.7x15

Sorry, check my edit. Wasn't approved with 1:1. Pendo, check out the prop for the 197 (pitch is 15)

I also noticed that the MCX w/ slot and catalytic converters site higher up in the boat. The engine is up out of the bilge more than the previous models. Guess there was a clearance issue, but it looks really mean up high now :)

yup, that's the prop I have on mine 13.7X15 ... I doubt that the 2062 feet of elevation is causing the rpm/speed issue, but OJ actually makes 2 different cup sized 13.7 X 15 ... so maybe I have the larger cup size? For sure I am just being retentive about it ... if it was perfect I would find something else to complain about ...

***EDIT ... they only make one cup size in the 15, but they also make a 15.5 pitch which would just make it worse

can't they dont make one the right pitch in a splined shaft:(

I would want a 3 blade in a 15 pitch (maybe even a 15.5)... and I haven't seen one on their spec sheet?

Sorry, I haven't looked into it yet, but I'm definetly going to be looking/hoping for 44 out of the MCX.

Where the engine is sitting on the mounts is determined by the strut, which dictates the shaft angle...the exhaust system had nothing to do with where you engine is sitting.

You ought to give the acme a whirl given their history of offering money back guarantees. I lost an inch of pitch of my stock 13x13 with the acme and didn't loose a bit off the top. You might pick up some top end going from four blades to 3 (while keeping the surface area of the four blade).

I noticed that in my friend's 05 TT 197. It's way high.

Who are you breakin it for?
Is it sold to someone from here?
Are the dealers still selling them as "new" if there is hours on the boat?
