Anyone know any details or have pictures of the new Prostar 214 or X14? As I understand it, these new models will replace the 209/X9 and have an entirely new hull which will essentially be a wider version of the 197 hull. This is supposed to give it significantly improved slalom wakes as compared to the 209/X9 while maintaining the larger interior. Being an owner of a 2006 X9 longing for a better slalom wake this boat interests me very much. We really love the extra room over the 197/X7 but want our slalom boat back!

Everyone including dealers are excited about this boat.

Probably wiil not till Dec. Will hopefully be in for the Jan Feb boat shows. Time will tell...we ahd hoped for October. Having driven the
prototype last June. It basically has the same running surface as a 197...just longer and bigger. The WAKE or should I say the lack of
was AWESOME

I heard the same thing from my dealer about the wake which is what has me very intrigued. If it is all it's rumored to be I just hope I can figure out how to get out of my '06 and into one of these without breaking the bank!

As I've posted, I love my tristar. But I the new 214 sounds so great, it's the only thing I'd consider to replace my Tri'. Although it's what, my boat plus $50,000?

It's just money.......you can always make more:cool:

The 214 does sound like a very interesting boat

I am really excited about the 214. My 94 205 is in great shape just want something a little bigger with the same ski wake. Not asking much :)

Glad to hear not a pickle ... I am still undecided about the looks of these.

I still think pickle is too much like a deck boat. Not that I wouldn't love to have one for free. I like the space in the new X2, it is the pickle that made me change my decision and the price too. :D

boatless.

I love the pickle. Think the pickle boats look awesome, particularly in the right color combos. If I was looking for a pure wakeboarding boat (and had 4 more inches in my garage), I would have opted for the X2. That is just an awesome boat.

i'm also glad to see its not a pickel fork
but is the x14 going to be worse than the x9 (wake wise) for wakeboarding? smaller?

How about someone scheduling a factory tour and taking some clandestine pics for us? :D

Saw a few pics at my dealer of the prototype boat they showed the dealers. I want to say it is 4" wider than the 209 and obviously a few inches longer.

How about MYMC gives someone a demo to report on, as he did Shep for the Monza?:D

That will be in the back of my mind when the 214's are readily available.

If it is 4" wider than the current 209 I would think the wake will suffer for both slalom and boarding. Plus you are really going to need some HP to move that much wetted surface.

No pictures of this beast? People have skied behind the prototype ... we should have some pictures. Anyone? Anyone? Bueler?

I don't know how accurate this information is or not, but my dealer told me it was essentially the same size hull as the 209/X9 but with the bottom replaced with a stretched version of the 197 hull. He said he watched a footer do a one foot wake to wake behind this thing which would have been nearly impossible behind an 209/X9. When I asked about the slalom wake at 15 off or better he said it was significantly improved as well. These are the observations of one individual but if he's correct then I HAVE to ski behind this thing when it comes out!

I'm also dying to see the 214 as I would love a great wake on a bigger boat.

That being said, there are physics at work here. The wider and heavier the boat, the larger the wake. The 209 is not as good as the 197 because it is wider. You're saying that adding even more width will make it better???

My dealer said the 2006 X-2 was going to have a great ski wake. Yeah, right--it came out and it is a HUGE wake because the boat is wide and very heavy. I'm hopeful for the 214, because I'll buy it if it lives up to promise, but I am very cautious about the promises.

I agree completely. I just don't see if having a comparable wake to the 197. I guess we will wait and see.
