I own a 1992 Prostar 205 and my friends had it out the other day and they were out on the lake and going to empty the fat sack that they had filled with water. So they plugged the end into the cigarette lighter and the entire boat lost all power. I was thinking that maybe it was just a blown fuse but I don't understand why all power to the boat would be lost. I mean I get absolutely nothing when I attempt to turn on the boat. Can anyone help me with what the problem may be and how to fix it???

It would not be related to what your friends were doing, but I know the fastest way to kill all the power to the boat is to pull the kill switch cord next to the drivers seat. If your volt meter is out and nothing seems to have power, I would bet money on the kill switch. It is ahead of the ignition switch, and nothing happens when you turn on the ignition if the switch is open.
Good Luck.

Have you tried to follow the power lines off the battery to see if there is an in-line fuse or if a wire is melted?
When I bumb the kill switch on my boat I still have power to everything, but the fuel pump (03 x-2).
Have you looked at the ignition switch? I don't know how to by pass it or check to see if it is bad, but maybe someone on this board does.
Help this guy out!
BTW, Bones has mastered the face plant.

Mine does the same thing, Push the master reset on the engine block, as for why I haven't found that out yet, but I installed a extra mount in the back of the boat for inflating water toys & my ARB Cooler
