What are people's opinions regarding buying a 2002 X30 with the LTR motor verses a 2003 or 2004 X30 with the MCX engine?
Is it worth the extra $7K-$10K?
Is the MCX engine with the additional 20 hp needed in a boat of this size?
Please let me know.

If the 02 is in good shape and has all the options you want,
10 grand is alot to spend for twenty horses. If it had the 310hp
engine I would probably consider doing the upgrade.

I had a 02 x30 w/ the predator 310hp, and I thought it was underpowered when weighted down. Please take in mind, the boat didn't perform as well as I'd liked, but I was in the sierra's at the time, so maybe better at sea level. Now, i have a 04 x30 w/ the mcx and I couldn't be happier.

In a PS 190, would the 310 engine perform well enough, or would you say to definetly go with atleast the 330?

I have driven both. The 310 is great, especially with powerslot, for slalom with a driver and one or two observers. If you start to load the boat with people, you will not be as happy. If you have a small lake with a short setup, you may have trouble getting to 58k by the 55 meter buoys. Most private lakes are fine. Other than that, no skiing difference. From the back of the boat, either will pull you up quickly enough and both have a rock steady pull. However, for the fun feel of driving the boat, I went with the MCX. I came from a 96 Prostar 190 with the 328 HP LT-1 and the 310 just wasn't as responsive and fun.
