Hey guys Just curious what you guys thought on this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-Mastercraft-X2-Clean-and-Loaded_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ63686QQihZ012QQi temZ220022075536QQrdZ1
I am always looking to upgrade and this would be a big jump but I love the colors and the x2. I know it is hard to price the newer stuff but getting a range and a good deal are two entirely different thing.
Erk I am not slighting you just saw this and wanted the info.
thanks

Well I just bought a brand new X-1 with everything that boat has except the MCX and the additional stereo stuff for $42.9k. If I were looking at that boat and it was in absolutely perfect condition, I would begin to be interested at $35k or below. Anything above that, it makes sense to buy new, IMO. No hours, more warranty, knowledge that the boat has never been damaged or abused, etc.

Hmmmm, I don't remember the phone ringing today....oh, that's right you never called!
Cool colors, and for the 30k price I'd throw a bid or two at it.

Erk that link to Chi Mastercraft does not open the used boats from that page

Move the mouse over used boats, and a drop down list should come up once the page is fully loaded. I just checked, and everything is working.

What would the top dollar that this boat would be worth. The owner said it "With the MCX ,heater, tandem trailer, cover this thing ran about 55K msrp"
I know that seems like a big hit but was curious what he might have really paid? He said he would sell for just a bit less than $39 so that would mean he would depreciate 16 thousand in two years???
Is this correct?

If you use Mount Washington, Ky as your location and search the NADA guide for used boat prices (www.NADA.com) you will find that low retail for this boat is about $38K and Average retail is about $43K. So, somewhere inbetween would seem reasonable depending on condition.

55 is about right.
My 05 x2 with all the trimmings plus shower, heater, bimini etc was like $53K with a boat show discount.
The 05 X2 has alot of extra bling then the X1, if you add all the options to the x1 it gets closer to the 05 price.

Sorry, but that NADA high price seems insane to me. I just paid $42.9 for a new 06 X-1 with everything on there except for the heater, speakers and MCX. No way someone should be paying the same thing for a one year old boat with over 100 hours on it. And, while the X-2 had lots of things standard that are options on the X-1, almost every boat you find on a dealer lot will be pretty optioned out, just like the X-2 was standard, so the prices were pretty comparable. When I bought mine, I could have chosen either of two other boats that had the MCX and the same options for under $44.5. IMO, this X-2 may be WORTH around $37-38k, but given the time of year, I wouldn't offer more than $35k. There are too many boats for sale right now.

There aren't too many x2's out there for sale and i would recommend checking out boat trader rather than NADA to see what they actually sell for. I have the 05 x2 and have been in the X1, the X2 is definetly sharper and yes most the dealers slap on the extra ballast and the cheapo board racks for like 43-44K. In my opionion i would definetly get a new X1 rather than a 1yr old X2 for relatively the same price.
