[Maybe it is a sign that we're all going to have a cold and snowy winter]

And by the way an old Farmers Tale is that seeing black wolly worms mean a hard cold winter ahead and I've seen mostly the black ones on the country roads near my house, if you believe in that sort of thing.

Same here in DFW. Only reason it isn't hotter is because we had our first rain clouds in months and it cooled everything down into the 90's.;)

The older I get the less I like winter. Living in Colorado at least I had something to look forward to, snowskiing every weekend! Sure there is a ski area 10 minutes from my house (Perfect North) but it doesn't exactly compare to what I am use too
I think I'll try and waterski thru November this year before full winterization. :D Dewinterize in late March, early April :D

Yep, we had frost warning on the 30th, but an unseasonably warm Labour Day weekend... daytime highs of 85F.

But I'm not going to push my luck too far. Last year I postponed winterizing until mid October and ended up freezing the heater core.. Probably a couple more nights out at Ghost Reservoir (water temp is down to the high 50's- need to get the wetsuit out soon :D ) and I'll call it a season.

Time to wax up the snow skis...

Good to see Big White (out) getting early snow, will be there on Dec. 8 for some skiing / meetings then up to Monashee Powder for the opening weekend of Cat skiing! Yeah!!

I get biweekly reports from SteamBoat during the ski season and I got my first yesterday............

Steamboat Receives First Snow Of The 2006/2007 Season!

FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON!

Coming off a 400+ inch Champagne Powder® snow season, winter showed the first sign of things to come this week as over 6 inches of snow covered the upper slopes. With even more snow predicted through the weekend, Steamboat's 2006/2007 season is shaping up to be one you don't want to miss!
