actually jim if you look at pic one you'll notice that the mc is parked where the nuatique and bu were in the pic with all three boats.
if you were there you would have noticed that all three boats were pretty much used equally. they had three lakes going with events at all times. during the time i was there , the bu seemes to be pulling jumps, mc pulling slalom and nautique pulling tricks. the reason you only see mc action shots is becuase i only took pics of slalom. i tried to get some jump shots but i kept missing, like this one...
rodltg2
08-18-2006, 01:31 PM
and this one...
if you look closely you can see all three lakes with the nautique at the far lake...

Did the MC's get through their events without having to have new chips sent to them this year? Last year they pulled jump as one of their events and after 4 -5 rerides they had to replace the boat.
Just wondering? The below is the offical boat draw. Each MFG get a ticket based on the number of events and rnds that that mfg was used to pull tournaments across the country - meaning that MC's pulled the least rnds, then Malibu and thenCC pulled the most. HMMMMMM?

I took pics of the mens Pro too but mine suck compared to Rods. By the way, Rod skied really well at my place. Very impressive!:D B

Chris needed 6 to win the event. No need to risk injury in a non-cash prize event. Most Open skiers only participate in Nationals to please their sponsors.
The weather and water conditions could not have been better. Even though the site is open, there is not much wind to contend with. The water temp was in the 80's - very nice for someone from the south! The MasterCraft folks on site were very nice and again, provided a t-shirt to all participants. All the boats performed flawlessly. I wish the same could be said for the skiers:rolleyes:
The Ski West folks did a great job of hosting the event. I look forward to going back next year - and skiing better!!

exit gates. basically he had the event won, why risk injury and wreck yourself for no reason..

all about keeping healthy and knowing what to get to beat out the competition!!!someone has trained him well, must be the thoughts of his dad in the boat holding the "paintball gun"...

my next question then, and is something i never though of before, if you toss the handle before the gates, but hit the wakes is it still a full 6 due to the wakes, or do they call you out at 5.5?

All Chris had to do was get back to the boat's wake in skiing position with the handle in his hand. The exit gates play no role in this. If he would have held on, thru the exit gates and then skied to the dock, his score would have been the same. 6 ball is judged/scored just like any of the other five.

So is this an appropriate time to have someone explain 1/4 and 1/2 buoys to me for the fourth time?

Doug; if you can get a copy of the INT Amateur Tour Rule Book it has a great picture of 1/4, 1/2, etc. Really a great ski resource booklet.

Check the score Chris parrish got 5 1/2 on his last pass he was not in skiing postion when he got back to the wake ( usawaterki.org) web site

Based on these rules I guess since he didn't exit the gate then he scored 5 1/2 and therefore was not eligible to try the next pass. Why do you think they allowed him to approach the next pass when he didn't complete the previous one???? .
rodltg2

they didnt he stopped his set after 39

http://www.utoronto.ca/ski/water/ca/rule9596/rbr15.html sooo, you DO have to get back to the gates in order to get six ?? right??
what cottons explanation has me wondering is, what if you just get back to the wake sometime after the gates??? It's still six? I don't know about that.
hacker
08-25-2006, 10:34 AM
You could round six ball, get back to the wakes and score a full 6. If for whatever reason you don't exit the course through the end gates, it would be 6 with no continuation. If you round 6 ball and go by the gates prior to getting back to the wake it would be 5-1/2.
