I'm sure this question has been asked before, so please forgive me. Are there any links or threads detailing Mastercraft model history? Which models were introduced and when, along with which models were discontinued and when. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately no. Me and many others have asked for one but still nothing. I am working on something for the Prostar/Skier/Sportstars but don't have the time or the knowledge of the other models like the Tristar/Maristar/X. I'll let someone else tackle that.
There is a good history of the 205 in the FAQ.

I have already asked MC to think about putting together a history rundown, including models, innovations, ownership, management timelines etc. But, we will see! There are already portions that exist in ads, brochures, Star magazines and someone with the proper journalistic capabilities could organize, confirm and present this in a knock out version that would really inform the industry who is "The Leader and Pulling Farther Ahead"!

I know this will cause some comments, but I am also a Boston Whaler owner. On their version of TT, they created a CD with pictures, history, and stats of all models. (Fewer then MC). The CD has become valuable resource and many have been sold.

Recent tow-boat shopping with a buddy who's looking to move from a big-water I/O to a V-drive tow boat has made me acutely aware of how MC has become number 2 in sales in that market. It's certainly not the boat quality. I tell him MC is better, but he just shows me the bound brochure and comprehensive CD he got from a competing dealer.

If you search enough, there is some info on here regarding the ProStars and its predissor the Skier19 (or is it 19 Skier, I have one and I don't know).
It would be nice to see a year by year history of each model, stating basic specifications, length, beam, number produced, maybe a photo and inovations added that year.
Who volunteers?

I havn't seen the bound brochure from the competing manufacture this year, but I do have a copy of MasterCrafts 06 brochure.
I was amazed in the size and quality of it.
My job involves me with putting together machine specifications for our brochures and I have a idea on what it costs to produce a brochure of that quality.

The Mastercraft 06 Brochure and DVD were great, competitors had possibly better (ie more expensive) brochures but didn't like the boats as much as the MC.

The new Waterskier had a page of MasterCraft firsts, first no wood stringers, first marine carpet, first fuel injection standard....
not sure if it was an ad or a article.....

In the 80's it was Skier 19.
The 19Skier (a remake of the 95-97 PS 190) was a follow up to the SportStar value line. I need to confirm the years 19Skier (00-03) and SportStar (96-00).
I started a PowerPoint with pics for examples of each model and associated years for the last 20 years or so. If someone can confirm the years for the two lines above I'd appreciate it.

The 93 Brochure had the first 25 years outlined in it. I have the scan from the now empty download section (what happened there???) :(
If anyone has a magnifying glass, have at it.
I'm going to have to trust NADA over my memory and the mislisted boats on Boattrader. If anyone on here has one of these boats outside of these year ranges - let me know.
NADA shows:
SportStar 19 '98-'00 19Skier '01-'02 (the latter, basically in the PS line for std equip).
Same boat 95-97 PS190 remake dif. gelcoat vinyl and engine cover.
SportStar 195 '99 (aka SS 19'/BR)
ProStar 195 '00-'01
Ok, so engines were different between the PS and the SS boats. SS came standard with a 5.0 rather than a 5.7.

In 99, I think it was called the Sportstar Open Bow, which became the 195 for 2000.
Engine was 5.0L in 1998 with other engines available as options. Platform was fixed in 1998 I believe. In 1999, the 5.7 TBI was standard. I remember the back seat being different, but not the engine box in 1998. In 1999, weren't all the engine boxes the fiberglass jobs?
I think the last year they offered the Skier 19 was 2003, but it may have been 2002.

The only thing I want to know is 'how long did they make the barefoot 190 and how many were produced?'

Are you just talking about the outboard Barefoot 190 or the late 80's Tristar based Barefoot 190 with the 454 inboard or both?

Sorry about that, you are right. Memory faded on that one. Removeable platform and wearguard pylon are listed as "standard features" in the WSM write up in 98.

OK, here is what I could find doing a search through the archives on some of the boats I would like to have:
(All information gathered from a post by Jim@BAWS)
Prostar 200 – First made in 1986 as a Protour jump boat. Has the PS 190 hull with a ProV OB
Barefoot 200 – Same upper deck as the Prostar, but with a hull designed to go straight ahead at 48mph. It had no fins, which made it go fast!
Tristar –
Tristar Sport – had a big 454 and open bow
Barefoot 190 – A closed bow Tristar Sport with a 454
Feel free to fill in the blanks...

isn't the new 05/06 197 hull based on the Barefoot 190 hull, in talking with Mike Seipel he mentioned that...
