That is sweet. When I was in the Air Force I use to shoot a Mini gun that shot 2000 to 4000 rounds per minute. It was fun to shoot.

JimN--You are correct. The GAU-8 was a "The Gun" they built the A-10 around (literally). HEI--High Explosive Incendiary rounds are anti-material rounds. They have a pyrophoric liner that creates a fires. So you shoot up a tank or a truck. The detonations cause damage and than it catches fire. Side note the 3 things you don't want when you're in a vehicle with explosives are: heat, shock and friction. Nothing like sympathetic detonations.

Timbo--cool clip.

That a-10 is/was a great bird. They built them in my home town (Hagerstown, MD). It's a shame the army doesn't want anymore. They can take quite a hit & still come home to momma I've been told.

As far as the heat, shock & friction.... So what military vehicle has a smooth enough ride to transport these rounds? It sure isn't a Deuce-and-a-half :D
