A broad generalization, but what's going to be the next;

I-pod
Cable Internet
Satellite Radio

What obscure cutting edge technology is out there right now that will be ubiquitous in 5-10 years from now?

I’m tired of working and need to get in early…….:D

One big trend is IP around the home, Voice over IP, Video over IP, etc.

Cable and traditional telco's have an advantage over satellite due to excellent bi-directional capability.

Traditional POT's telephone will largely be gone in 10 years.

Everyone will own a MasterCraft boat.

My guess will be a technology to get us away from consumption of oil.

May be ethenol, hydrogen fuel cells, who knows maybe a Flux capacitor and a Mr. Fusion.

Having the inside tract on the newest would be great....but go old style.. Buy Oil/Gas or oil gas service co.......most the US thinks this is another blip until the Saudi's/OPEC decide to waste our oil industry again.... I am thinking/bettin' that we will have a strong oil industry for a few years....... Oil/Service companies could be the ticket.... If nothing else - hedge your fuel bill - (I support 1 Ford V-10 and 1 MC 305)..... at least I don't have kids in private school.....

I am not a professional financial advisor and all forward looking statements could be total B$$l S$$T........

I remember in the 70's when stations were running out of gas and everyone said there was only few years left of oil....
