That new diesel looks promising, however 19mpg.......Something doesn't seem right.....Especially being a MB diesel.....Are they leaving room for error or what?

Workin', I heard something about a Jeep recall this morning. Something to do with steering (didn't hear the specifics). You hear anything?

Nope. But IF I were to guess, perhaps its because MB got their hands into something not often used before on their cars.
Their own Stability controls, ABS 4Wdisc, AND AWD at the same time.
Seems somewhat redudant to me....:o

I'll keep a lookout, thanks.

I believe it was the Jeep Liberty and the tendency for the front wheels falling off the vehicle:D

DETROIT (Reuters) -- Chrysler Group said on Wednesday it would recall an estimated 832,500 Jeep Liberty vehicles because of a potential steering problem.

Chrysler, the U.S. operating unit of DaimlerChrysler AG, said that, in some of the vehicles, a ball joint in the front suspension was prone to excessive wear and coming loose.

The automaker said that, in some cases, that joint could separate entirely causing drivers to lose steering control.

The voluntary recall covers 2002 to 2006 models of the Jeep Liberty sport utility vehicle, Chrysler said.

Owners of vehicles covered by the recall will be notified in September and work to repair the problem will be done at no cost to them, Chrysler said.

As I gather, 4 people injured, 830,000 recalls 2002 -2006 liberty, replacement of ball joints sounds like the solution.
