Next step UMP... you need to get a portable ski course. You are on the way brother... Once you start skiing around those balls, there is no turning back! Especailly on a Monza! :headbang:

UMP!!!!! What's up with the Monza? You been skiing it? Or have you forsaken all waterskis for the boards God gave you (i.e., your feets!)...

My girlfriend who skis way better than me, just dumped her new (1 year old) System 8 for a D3X5. She never got comfortable on it and just kept loosing ground...not to mention breaking her ankle skiing it.

My boyfriend has the X5 and I have to tell you I thought it was a little sluggish. Could have been that it was a 65.5 and I’m on a 66. I couldn’t get used to the HO (Monza) either..

Funny, I was thinking I'm going to break my neck skiing my Monza  I'm going to tame it though, and when I do it's going to be awesome :worthy:

Bragging? I'd post more photos, but my boat is in such sad shape right now I'm embarassed to show it :o . Some day, I hope to post some "before and after" pics. New interior, buff the exterior, restore the trailer...

OK, Based on the first 9 pages of this thread I am probably going to get a System 8 after the new year. I don't have the time to read the other 15 pages of jack so I'll just put my question here in hopes someone can give me some suggestions.

I am 5'7", 190 lbs. I am currently on a 67" Mach 1 (yea, I know, old technology). Like I said, a System 8 is in my spring plans, the question is, what length. I read the arguments about length on other threads, but that guy was like 6'2" 230, so it didn't help much. Any suggestions?

I weigh 190 lbs (and am 5'-11", though I don't know what height has to do with it). I'm skiing a 68" Monza. The System 8 that I had was also 68". Traded up from a 67" KD 7000, which I decided was too small for me - though it seemed perfect when I was weighing 170-180.

Hope that helps.

If you ski 34mph the 68" is ideal. If you ski slower(30mph) then bigger would be better.
