Saw this first thing in the morning on the California Delta. About noon the tide had come up enough to float the boat and we helped some guys push it off the sand bar. They were local campers and they told us the story. Guy and wife were out, guy was drunk, hits the sand bar. She went through the bimini top and was injured and taken to the hospital. He was hauled off to jail. Local campers told the guy they would pull his boat to a local dock and hold it for him. I later saw the boat doing 30 mph so the underwater gear must not have been damaged. Sand bars on the delta usually more of a soft slime bar than a sand bar.
