It's not the gas that explodes, it's the vapors. So - as long as the tank doesn't have a hole in it AND the vent is far away from where he's welding (a block away comes to mind) I'm sure he's ok.

Of course, the only reason why he has to weld on his truck is because that's the only think he could afford after paying for the Mercedes his wife drives! :D So - it's really his wife's fault that he is going to die young.

He didn't. A family of relatives (Mexicans, no dout) came by and lifted it up on it's side. Then, after properly wedging 4x4's in place soon departed.
