I am looking for a MC screensaver that came out around 1998/1999. It was an animated movie of a guy slalom skiing behind a MC. He would ski toward the screen and then turn into drops of water. Does anyone have this screensaver? I lost it when my hard drive crashed.

Alright, I kind of lied. I haven't used it in a while and I tried it out, and it is missing the setup. But I have the winners 2000 photo contest screen saver and it is working fine if you are interested.

Ahhh, not lying because I have it. :D But lying because I can't get it to work. :( There is a bit of a difference, and lacking a degree in computer-geekology isn't helping my cause.

What email do you use? You should be able to send it out through gmail or yahoo.

Maybe we can talk MasterCraft into making a new one for us?

I have been using one that came with my computer that randomly shows photos from your computer. I have a directory I save all the good photos from this site, looks great.

1) Upload (for free) to www.yousendit.com ( 1 gig max).

2) send the link to yourself.

3) Send the link in a PM to the requester (as the link will expire quickly after 25 hits if posted publicly).

4) Requester can download for free.

5) Done deal.

I have it here, which you can try. It used to work on WIN95 but never did work from day one on XP

like sporty said above, it will expire after 25 hits, so first come first serve :)

worked on the kid's 98 machine, but I did get an error when I tried to unzip it, so I redirected the unzip folder to the desktop, and it gave me a Mastercraft icon, I clicked the icon, and it said Mastercraft screensaver was already running

so, I went into dosplay properties, and there it was

MasterCraft in blue text, drips down to dissolve off of screen, then a MC and skier comes by, from right to left.

but, when I looked at the settings in display properties, I learned something............

these people made it!!!!

after further review, it works on my xp machine. Installed it last night, looked at the display properties and it didn't look like anything changed there. However, leaving my computer go to screen saver showed it works.......

Hey! Looky what I found. Still doesn't work for me. Maybe it will work for you. Or even better, if you can figure out how to get this to work for all of us.

Ok figured it out for you all.
Download from Ryan's archive.org link
Download WinRAR and use winrar to open the file
Fix the archive using the option to do so in winrar.
once its fixed double click the fixed archive file, it'll install
set it as your screensaver.

Notes. This is a windows 98 based program, you need to have autoexec.nt installed on your computer to run this program or you'll get a 16 bit subsystem error message.

If so google that issue and fix it.

Gave a try at usendit
http://s59.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1H2PRE3YYFDD12UV2CW83CWN11

Note: previous still works, so if you are good w/ computers do that. this is the rebuilt version, so don't pimp out the people who are lesser and make them figure out WinRar and extraction and such (i still recommend winrar for your extraction needs)

Good work!

I had the same idea:(
http://home.alltel.net/bhammon/rebuilt.mc_saver.exe

I've noticed in XP that you cannot edit properties or preview the screensaver through XP's display settings...... is this typical with your also?

yes i've noticed that as well, the MC screen saver has overridden my factory settings. Basically i've decided that if i want it removed, i can delete the files for MC.exe and the MC.scn or whatever its called, and keep that rebuilt.mc_saver.exe file in my install files folder, then if i want it back i can do so simply. I also think it runs faster on this one than it would on an older machine. Ie. the skier really rips it across.

Did you use WinRAR to rebuild the one on your website? Or did you use another program?

yes, I ran winrar...

like I said earlier, great work on your part and trying different things.

ps, I haven't had any errors pop up on my XP machine:headbang:

as noted before, I got it on the kids 98 machine first try, but gave up on it for XP until now.
