Brad, did you guys ever figure out what was up with the 94?
The inlet to the transmission cooler had a bunch of plastic shavings in it.
I think there was enough that eventually it worked it's way over the screen and was blocking enough water to effectively cool the engine.
We hooked up the hose and ran it for about twenty minutes and it was good to go, lake test will be this afternoon, with a rescue boat standing by......

My weekend place is about an hour away from Mr. Outboards (same ownership as Sturgeon Bay Yacht Sales) -- I bought my Maristar from them. But I think the Barefoot 200 is gone. I worked with Darin. He is a pretty straight shooter. Let me know if I can help.

Maybe the fuel pump.. ran good for about 5 minutes, but still would only run 38mph. Should run around 43 to 44. It would get to 36 like it should, but from there it started missing.

Brad-Very plain 94 though...and with a Merc. I would wait and look for a 95 or 96 with the Comp Package and a Yamaha.

I will be taking the fishnski in question to Greeson next weekend for a test run. My friends at the dealership are giving me a weekend test to see if this is the right boat for us. Boat is rated for a 150, but has a 115 4stroke on it now. I will test the boat w/ the 115, but only buy it with a 150.. We are also looking at a deckboat w/ a 200hp rating.

Seems like if a guy wanted to you could make some money buying boats in the south (FL, TX and the Gulf Coast states) and then taking them up and reselling them to the Yankees. Always seems to be at least $2-5k price difference between the regions.

not kidding at all.... No more than I ski we don't need a comp boat that I always have to work on. I could use the f&s all year and feed Farmer some fish. Duck boat gets about 5 hrs. a year put on it. I still have a 15hp I can put on a little jon boat for the duck hunting I do. Just makes since to get down 1 boat, THAT WORKS WHEN I'M ON VACATION!!!!!!!!!!! Been to Greeson on vacation twice this year and the motors in the MC's broke! Nothing to do with MC, if I could find a BF200, I would buy one. Brandy can board and ski, as well as Kaylee, behind anything. They just want something that runs. Outboards are more dependable than I/O and inboards. Kaylee said she would miss the platform.. Just me, but I still have to sell the 205 first..

Goes without saying, but if you get an outboard, be so careful when you've got folks in the water. I know you must have become accustomed to having a straight drive.

I have thought of doing this many times. The ideal thing would be to start a "dealership" and get a Wisconsin tax ID number to avoid having to pay sales tax on the boats you buy. I almost pulled the trigger on a 2001 PS 190 that was located in Austin, TX last winter. The boat appeared to be in very good condition and was priced about $4-5000 under what it could get around here. That would make it well worth the trip, especially if you didn't have to pay sales tax.
As far as the BF200 goes, I live about 2.5 hours away from it if that helps. I have no plans to visit that area anytime in the near future, but if you need someone to look at it, we might be able to figure something out:D . PM me if you need help!

I went out with some friends on their VIP last summer. I honestly didn't want to ski, but they were very insistent. It literally took me about 7 times to get up, and that's hardly ever a problem. Once I was up, I wished I'd fallen. I know I sound like an inboard snob, but coming from an outdrive, I'll never go back. You think you miss the powerslot now? Just wait.
I can only imagine that it must be as frustrating a thing as can happen to be stranded. I say imagine, because, knock wood, I haven't had to paddle my 20' canoe yet. But over time, it's going to happen, be it an inboard or an outboard. Just the way boats be.
Brad, you know I want you to be happy. But I wouldn't be a friend if I didn't give you my honest opinion. If you decide to do it, just forget all this stuff I've said. I'll shake your hand in Greeson next year and tell you "nice boat!"
