So here is the situation.

Yesterday I go to the local dealership to look at Ho ski's. The owner gives me a writen price on a ski and writes down the price plus a additional 15% off, great.
I go back today with cash in hand and the price of the ski is $30.00 more, the owner is also out of town now. I show the guy working the floor the writen price in the owners handrwriting, he leaves the room and makes a phone call to the owner. When he comes back he says that the owner can't give me the ski as writen down but will sell it to me at todays new price.

Should I push the issue or just accept that they are the stealership.

I also got a price on a perfect pass which I want installed but now can't trust them on any prices. I guess $30.00 is more important to them than a happy customer.

Oh well...

Hey - I'm not the expert, not even an old timer here...... but look up MYMC here ..... he is a dealer and from what I can tell - he treat you right price-wise and will back up his product.......

This might be harder than going in and layin' down cash..... but long run --- A BETTER DEAL.....AND YOUR HAPPY! That's the ticket!!

I think it's easier to deal with a dealer like MYMC than going somewhere and laying down cash. He made me a deal on a ski on Friday morning and I had it in my hands by Monday morning. I never left my chair.

I'd tell them to not nickle and dime people in the future and that you're taking your business elsewhere.

They should honor the price that was quoted.

that is bad. i had a my sales girl miss label some granite . i never wrote the price down for them , the customer just saw it. they wanted to buy and i noticed that it was priced way to low.. i gave it to them for the price shown, and let me tell you it was ALOT more than $30. a happy customer is one who will refer you!

If that is how they treat you on a ski I would worry about buying anything they sell or service.

I would talk directly with the owner before I gave up and bougt elsewhere. Maybe there is a miscommunication between him and his min wage counterperson.

Then go elsewhere.

Thats what worries me with the PP, how can I trust them when the work is finished. If they can't honour a price on a ski, I can only imagine what could happen with PP.

I will go back next week when the owner is in and hopefully his business 101 skills will come to the surface.

I'll keep you all informed.

"Who is MTMC"???!!
He's the guy who just sent a Monza and a Sys 8? to Shepard whom we are all waiting for a write-up so we can order a new ski!!!!!

- Really chk his website.... sells boats, parts, skis, and a lot of other stuff - I don't know him but he seems to want to do right by you....... when / if I decide to buy an '07 MC I will call him as my local MC dealer treats me like your ski guy......

Plus it might be a good road trip - could make a list of the ski/party animals between TX and NC and break in a new MC correctly on the way back home..

I agree, Mike's a top-notch dealer, but if we're talkin' road trips to buy a MasterCraft from a dealer other than the one MasterCraft has assigned you...well...let's just say there are some glitches in that system...

Maybe so.... but the only MC deal I have here has create issuse with me me for 20 yrs... I still go in there -to buy ropess andsuch and they have not gotten better..... you know the type - will take your money but that's all the "help" that they are any good at......

Honestly, I would probably buy from them - They are like John Deere... one dealer per region... but I would not like it.....& I know that I wouldn't get good service - but I can mechanic pretty decent....so maybe I wouldn't need them....

I know that dealer. The last time I went in there I was ski shopping. I walked around their showroom for 20 minutes and got blank looks from the people on the floor. Not a "hello," not a "may I help you." I finally gave up and walked out. I've not bothered going back even though I used to drive by there on the way to my buddy's house.

Run away quickly!!

No one needs to be treated like that at all! MYMC is the one to go to for this sort of stuff on here. YOu can trust Mike will treat you fairly and he always follows thru on what he says he'll do. Give him a buzz

Ditto

Maybe the person at the counter didnt call and was going to take your 30 dollars

It is worth talking to the owner. As a business owner, my employees are a good representation of my company. However, if any of my customers have questions or problems which my guys can't resolve, I would want to speak with the customer.

If owner tells you price is $30 more, I'd buy elswhere. It'd be for the principle.

I had great luck with Max at www.skiertoskier.com when I installed perfectpass in my old Supra. Excellent technical support and a very easy install.

As for the ski, I've had experience with both Wiley's and Adrenaline out in Washington. Close to the HO factory and you can get excellent prices and support from them. In fact, once I bought a blem Phantom and they ran out before mine shipped, so I got a perfect one at the same price. Adrenaline gave excellent service and pricing on my Approach boots. Performance Ski in Orlando is also very good.

However, going to a D3 X5 has added at least a full pass for me.

I would go somewhere else, and let the guy know why you left. You can get skis and perfect pass anywhere, don't give someone who is dishonest your hard earned cash, just my $0.02

Someone drives this far to deal with me because they are happy with the service I have given them...then I'll do all I can to make sure they leave with a new boat. MasterCraft cannot and does not control where a consumer spends their money and usually via communication between either dealer to dealer or customer to factory these situations can be worked out.

Lastly, if you need a ski PM me and I'll help all I can.

A quick update,

I called the dealership today and spoke with a different salesperson.

After explaing the situation she could not understand why the other salesperson did not honour the price. So long story short I will be getting my new ski and boots from them next week.
