Hi everyone. I have a quick question about replacing the transmission seal(s) on a velvet drive 1:1 transmission. It's actually in a friends TIGE. But it provides the daily wakeboard ride while my PS 190 tows the slalom runs in the morning. Anyway, his tranny is losing fluid fairly quickly and it appears to be in the bilge. I suspect the rear seal on the tranny. Is there a way to diagnose this for sure prior to buying the seal? The shift mechanism, cooler lines and vent show no signs of leakage. Also, are any special tools needed to change it? Does the prop have to come off or can the shaft be moved back enough with it still on? Any help would be appreciated since the dealer is a two hour drive plus a two hour ferry ride (mucho expensive) away. Thanks in advance if you have any helpful hints on diagnosing and/or replacing the seal.
