Looking for people interested in skiing on any of these three lakes... Castaic is my 'main' lake of choice these days, but I have recently been on Lake Web at Buena Vista Rec - and had a really good time.

Since you go out to BV, why don't you come up to the Nationals in August and ski with me? We are a 1/2 hour east of BV. Let me know? B

Hi Betsy, I would definitely like to take you up on your offer, unfortunately that weekend is full of things going on down here (Weddings, birthdays) so I can't make it... hopefully we can reschedule.

Nice to meet you!

Thanks - Tom

Hey I am down for a drive up that way if there are some camping spots that we can stay at? Do any of those lakes have camping?

Hey slink... absolutely. We get down to SD 4-5 times a year and have been dying to find a place to ski down there. It is our get away town!! We love it!

Castaic does have some camping - but it is not lake front... it is up the hill and a little over... but it is doable... I dont know about Piru, or Pyramid, but Buena Vista (Lake Web) defintely does... A great place to go with a bunch of friends.

San vincente(SP), It is a boats only fresh water lake! has a seperate slalom coarse, cost an additional 5 per person but well worth it. it is right of the 67. you might be able to google earth it.

Do you know why San Vicente has limits on which days you may have water contact? Which end of the lake is the course on?

once you come the luanch area, turn left and go str8 you'll see it. At the other end there is a kid friendly zone with a 10mph limit. Water contact is thurs, fri, sat and sunday. tuesdays and wed is for fishing only :( Dont know why they have it set up like that but i am just happy it is 10 minutes from my house. Bad news .... after next year they are going to be closing it until 2017 to raise the dam 100 feet.

Where will you go? 10 years to raise the dam? That's nuts.

I was starting to wonder if there was a waste water facility out there that ran Mon-Wed.

The Police/rangers get monday off. Last year our local mastercraft shop had a club and we rented the lake out 2 times. there was about 10 boats on the whole lake GLASS all DAY!!! Man that was the best days of my life. It cost 1500.00 to rent split that up between 10 boats and it is worth every penny

I won't tell your wife.

Or husband, if your name happens to be Rachel today too.

That is CHEAP! Way cheaper than what it costs to haul a boat to a lake with good water.

Bringing this one back up... have been hitting the lake (Castaic) at least 2 to 3 times a week... looking to get together with poeple for early morning runs (both skiing and wakeboarding) as well as runs into the cold season.

I'm up.

Was on Piru Saturday a week ago - glass until about 9am.

I haven't done Castaic in years but would like to try.
