okay, already refinanced the house and locked in and want to avoid a home equity loan...

what are the best rates out there you've found for a new vehicle purchase:
1. Home Equity Loans
2. Auto Loans

Jeep has the following going on right now:

0% for 36mos
3.9% for 48mos
5.9% for 60mos
6.9% for 72mos

On my last two vehicle purchases, I used a local credit union. I even refinanced the boat there. At the time of the refi (May 2004), I got 2.99% on a 2001 Expedition and a 1993 MC. Last September, I got 4.75% on a 2000 accord.

Today's rates are listed at 5.79% on a 36 month and 5.99% on a 48 month. Up to 6.79% on a 72 month loan. This is more helpful on a used vehicle though. You can get better rates on the new stuff from the dealers as incentives.

I too have had good luck with credit union loans.

Are there any catches to the 0% loans? I'm sure if you miss a payment your rate goes to like 20% or something.

Only 2000 cash back and no % break. That doesn't sound right at all....
I thought my last trip in there they were 0% for 60 AND cash....I do think they were also still playing the employee price game at the time a few weeks ago.
