2001 205V Swim Platform Brackets

Hello,

I've got a 2001 205V with the fiberglass platform. With no ballast, my platform is an inch or two under the water, when I sack it down, it is 6 - 8 inches under water making it a pain to put the board on, lube is washed away, you slide off the sundeck, etc. etc. My friend has a 2004 X-2 and his teak platform sits much higher. Did they make "taller" brackets in later years and is it just a matter of ordering 2004 X-2 swim platform brackets and changing them out?

I've attached a few pics, one being mine the blue prostar, a 2004 X-2 and a 2006 X-1. See where the platform is in comparison with the tow rings on the back.

Any information and or part numbers to buy would be most helpful. Also, a place to order as my local MC shop never returns phone calls and never has any staff to answer questions or look things up even if I make the 25 mile drive to stand in line.

Welcome, Gordon. Sorry I don't have an answer for you. Do you have some measurements of your brackets? Maybe that would help someone with a newer boat make a comparison. Good luck.

Thanks for the welcome, I'll measure the existing brackets this weekend when I head out to where the boat is stored.

I have a 2000 PS205 DD and after adding a custom ballast system my platform was always in the water. I added taller brackets from a (I think) 2003 205V and they're much taller. I just measured my old one and it's 5 3/4"

That measurement is from the bottom of the V part that slides into the bracket (that's mounted on the boat) to the top of that part, which would be the where the bottom of the platform rests. If your's is the same, you can get a taller one. If it's taller than that, I believe you have the tall one. Good luck and PM me if you need addt'l info.

Well, ended up ordering a pair of brackets from an '04 x-2 and they are about 4 to 4.5 inches taller. If you're having this problem that is the fix. I'll post pics when I get it finished.

WakeorSnow, could you please tell me the part # as well as what you paid for the brackets? do you plan to slide them into the old supports?
