which do you like better '04 Zeroflex or '05 Zeroflex?

I've been iffy on the new tower. The swing-in board racks are great, but something has been missing. It's the lines of the '04 lower unit with the way they follow the windshield. But, the '04 top portion is too upright. Face it, the new trend is the swept style. The '05 will probably grow on me and before ya know it we'll look at the '04 the way we look at the '99.

Okay, Now that the extra hour of bar time has worn off and the babe in the nurse's uniform costume has gone home....

I did not like the '05 tower at first - but now that I have seen one on a boat I actually think its pretty cool. The design is far better in regards to access to gear in the racks.

I don't like either one and am very happy I bought the Zeroflex mini-tower!

It looks great, work well, is easy to load our unload skis and boards.

Don't think they offer a mini for the 209, if they did I'd have one.

Mag, there are places that make towers around Houston(any shape or size you want (for a price))
I ordered an 05 197 with 04 zeroflex because I dont like that crazy new tower.
My thinking was we may leave the tower off alot of the time and the boat would look like shaaaaaaaaaw if you removed the 05 mr gadget tower.

The 05 tower is great with the swing board racks. No drunken falls over the edge trying to hang the boards. Just swing them around.

I can't wait for my new boat. :)

april, what is the ETA?

Hopefully by March. We haven't ordered yet. I am waiting for the 05 design a boat, so I can spend some time with the colors. Also, still trying to sell my 03 X10. I don't want to take trade-in value, but i will if I have to.

I agree, tradein is looooow. I used ebay to get to alot of folks which led someone local to me. I took that buyer to the dealer for the sale and it worked out great!
'05 design a boat is at your dealer if you want to see it (that's where I saw it about 3 weeks ago and placed an order)
I actually dealt with Tim over at your dealer this summer & he's a hellofa nice guy, we just couldnt get together on the $. Mine should be here this month  time for a boat payment again!

Ric, I think you were selling your boat at just about the right time. People really start looking for deals come October.

From what I've seen, I like the lines of the 2004 better, but I'm sure the swing-in board rack is handy.

H20: My 2002 Zeroflex sucks because the tines are too close together to hold my CWB Wakesurfer.... and, I wouldn't be shavin' anything if I wuz you...

I think you're right even though at the time I felt like it was the worst time to sell but kept reminding myself that boats take longer to sell. It all worked out and I maybe took 500 less than what I thought it would bring in the end so I'm happy.

"Sucks" is a strong word. I prefer the '04 tower looks, but understand the functionality of the '05. l like the way the '04 takes the styling cues from the windshield lines.
When Correct Craft changed to their '04 tower it didn't fit the lines of the boat (in my opinion, and apparently many others). They have since changed it back to the "old" design.
Regarding new towers...maybe a suggestion or two. It seems they are making them so they are more difficult to collapse, or cannot be collapsed far enough to get into a garage. I don't like my boat sitting outside when not in use. Also, they are becoming more limited in areas you can add additional racks. Not picking on MC. I notice this on other boats companies.

I'm glad you like the "mini". I just purchased an 04 Tourny Team 197 and am having the mini put on this winter. I had a hard time deciding. I think it's the low profile that makes it. Do they have an 05 mini tower?

Ric

Yes skin they do and it looks the same as 04 from what I can tell

In case people haven't seen the process for folding down and putting up the 2005 Zero Flex tower, it is very easy for one person to do it. Undo the top 2 knobs, quick-disconnect the wire connections, fold the rear portion of the structure back, fold each of the front legs forward. I haven't done a height measurement to see what the clearance is in the down position but I don't think it is meaningully higher than just the windshield height. Putting the tower back up is equally easy: put the front legs up first, then fold the rear structure. The trailing ends of the front legs have a "bullet" on the end which automatically aligns the pieces so they are very easy to align.

One word of caution: the height of the tower in the up position is pretty high - my garage is about 10' high from floor to joists, and the light on the top of the tower has to be between the joists or it will hit.

crdickey, in case I haven't said it before, I am in complete envy of your boat. I have to say that's the best lookin' new 'Craft i've seen.

Picture and video of the new tower. In the video, they have the ski mirror in the wrong place so one of the arms will not lay flat. Once they locate the mirror in the correct location it does lay nice and flat (not shown)

my dealer advised me not to go with the zero flex tower because it is overpriced and flexes more than aftermarket, i have decided to go with a bullet custom made tower for 1000 less , will post pics once installed.

I may have mentioned this already, but I ordered an 05 boat with an 04 zeroflex because of the looks alone. It's turned into a nightmare as my dealer says MC won't install 04 tower on 05 boat while it's being built, so it must be installed at the dealer(not a good thing so far).

Ric, Was at the NYC show last weekend and there was a MC manf rep there who said the same thing, they will not install an 04 tower on an 05 MC. Has the dealer signed up to do the install? If so, you should be ok? As I mentioned in another thread, the 05 tower has grown on me a lot, but it's a preference. Rod, Post those pics when it's done, would like to see it. Thx!

Yes Mitch the dealer has done it and now the dealer is doing it again  one of many reasons I decided to pass on taking delivery til they got their sh together over there.
My main concern from the start was my dealer's ability to get it right.
