I have about 20+ hours on my '06 X-30. I've noticed that with full factory ballasts and about 400-500 pounds of human ballast, we have to run about 22 mph or better to keep the wake clean. Does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning up the wake at lower speeds? I have some beginners who would like to run at 17-18 mph and it's just too sloppy at the slower speeds. The trim tab doesn't seem to help any.

I have an '03 230, which is a bit smaller than your '06. I wouldn't run any ballast at that slower speed, or at least more ballast in the front, less in the rear. Usually a "washed-out" wake is because you have too much weight in the rear. Also try moving some heavier people to the bow.

Doesn't your boat have a wake-plate? Have you tried trimming it down?

Thanks. The trim didn't seem to help much.
