In Indy it was pretty overcast, but could catch views between clouds. Baseball game obviously wasn't keeping us glued to the tube. Those pix are awesome!

Thanks for the positive comments.

The photos were made hastily after returning from dinner (including 5 Bud Lights) and seeing it upon backing into my driveway. I wouldn't have known about it either unless my 15 year old son had said there was supposed to be a lunar eclipse tonight on our way out to dinner.

What kind of camera did you use?


Powerslot,

The camera was a Nikon 5700 with 8x optical and 4x digital zooms. I took full advantage of both zooms to get these shots. The tough part was holding the camera steady enough at that zoom length. I used a micro tripod atop a 6' step ladder. The trouble was, only two legs of the tripod would sit on the step so it just steadied what were basically handheld shots. No telescope or anything like that was involved.
