Huge news coming on the eve of the prologue of the Tour de France.
Drug Scandal: (http://www.velonews.com/tour2006/details/articles/10185.0.html)
"Pre-race favorites Jan Ullrich (T-Mobile) and Ivan Basso (CSC) were among nine riders from five teams who were ruled out of the 93rd Tour in what brought back bad memories of the 1998 Festina scandal."
I hate to see Basso and Ulrich dismissed from the tour. This was probably Ulrich's last chance to claim his second win as he is getting rather old for a cyclist. However, it could turn out to be an all American podium in Paris in three weeks. Look for Hincapie, Landis, and Leipheimer to do well this year.
