PWT History:

The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour is the largest and most storied professional wakeboarding circuit in the world. Since it’s inception in 1992, the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour has attracted the sport’s most talented athletes every year to compete in the series points race for the Pro Tour title.

Athletes compete during the course of a season to be named Pro Tour champion based on a cumulative point system. Points are awarded to each athlete based on placement at each stop. The highest total points-earner at the end of the season
is crowned the winner.

The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour began with a handful of dedicated wakeboarders traveling to various cities performing wake tricks behind the MasterCraft 190, and later the MasterCraft Maristar. The Pro Tour quickly evolved into more of a skate park style competition, adding various pieces of floating apparatus to perform rail-based tricks and jumps.

Looking to up the ante with a larger and more powerful wake, the Pro Tour began using the MasterCraft XStar, which eventually led to the first-ever 1080 landed in a professional contest.
