The shoreline along Lake Norman will be rocking and rolling to the sights and sounds of a different kind of beat this week. The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour will host its second event of the 2013 season in Mooresville, North Carolina today through Saturday - June 1st.
The two-day event will feature a contingent of the world's best wakeboarders competing in the Pro Men's Division as well as the sport's future stars in the Overton's Junior Pro Men Series.
Last season, Harley Clifford narrowly edged out Phillip Soven to claim the Pro Tour title.
The two competitors will look to continue their rivalry in Mooresville, but they will also face stiff competition from a very talented pool of riders including Shota Tezuka, Rusty Malinoski, Steel Lafferty and Andrew Adkison.
The athletes accumulate points at each stop based on their placement in each contest. The highest total points-earner at the end of the five-event season will be crowned the Pro Tour champion.
Following the Pro Men's finals on Saturday, the crowd will also enjoy the Polaroid Action Big Air Contest. The jaw-dropping specialty event features some of the best Pro Men riders launching from a ramp to perform massive rotating aerials that are rarely accomplished in a traditional contest setting.
The first day of action in Mooresville will feature qualifying rounds and is free to the public. Tickets for Saturday's finals are available online for $7 and include an exclusive Overton's discount code for online buyers only. Gate prices are: $13 (adult); $5 (ages 6-12); free (ages 5 and under).
