MasterCraft PWT - LIVE in Elizabethtown This Weekend

The high-flying, rail-sliding, water-sports action of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour is headed to Elizabethtown, Ky., June 18 & 19, for the third stop of the 2010 season. The two-day event, held on the waters of Freeman Lake Park, features the top pro wakeboarders from throughout the globe competing for cash, points and pride by performing rail tricks and aerial stunts, while being towed on the water behind the official Pro Tour towboat, the MasterCraft X-Star, at a speed of approximately 25mph.

The event, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 18, will feature preliminary rounds for the Jr. Pro Men and Pro Men divisions, and is free to the public. The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour will wrap up in Elizabethtown on Saturday, June 19, with the ticketed event starting at 12 noon and the Main Event running from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Main Event will feature high-energy athlete introductions, leading into the Pro Men finals, as well as a new double up contest and big-air challenge. The two new competitions are designed to feature select athletes performing exciting and innovative new tricks that aren’t normally attempted in a contest.

The Elizabethtown stop heats up with a tough field of competitors, including Aussie phenom Harley Clifford, Rusty Malinoski and Kentucky native Bryan Hutton.?

In addition to all the on-the-water action, on land the Pro Tour’s new entertainment stage will feature athlete interviews, color commentators and live interactive music provided by DJ “Drop Top” Brandon Thomas and mind-blowing drummer Mike Mantas.

?

Fans will also enjoy plenty of great food, athlete autograph signings, chances to win freebies, and shopping at the most cutting-edge stores for water-sports equipment including boats, wakeboards, wakeskates, sunglasses and the latest in wakeboarding and surfing fashions.

Also be sure to pick up your share of $10,000 in free gift cards from Overton’s, the official water-sports retailer of the King of Wake series. Fans can also register to win a $500 Overton’s catalog shopping spree.

The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and on Saturday runs from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Tickets to Saturday’s event can be purchased at the gate for $10 (general admission), $5 (ages 6-12) or free (ages 5 and under).
