Bought and restored this unique 88 Prostar with 425 HP 454-HO engine. This boat is awesome, but my family demands something with more seating room. I've purchased a new X-14V and I'm putting this up on TeamTalk in homes that someone might be interested.
Short list of all the improvements:
Rebuilt 7.4L carbeurated 454-HO engine (425 HP)
All-new electrical system and wiring - new alternator, new electronic ignition (mallory) and solid state coil, new starter, new dual batteries, isolator, combiner. All electrical mains replaced with 00-gauge marine gauge wiring.
950 watts of JL-powered stereo - 4 house speakers, 1 subwoofer, 2 bullet tower HLCDs with wet sounds volume control and PA.
NDT (new dimensions) wakeboard/waterski tower (frees up space in the boat!)
3-event perfect pass
brand new carpet and high grade vinyl interior (vinyl work done by Jim Jackson at Viper Customs)
950 hours on the engine. The top end was rebuilt at 904 hours, the bottom end was rebuilt at 450 hours.
Also comes with a custom KW tournament barefoot boom and all the hardware to use it.
I also have a tournament pylon with a KW dual quick releases if anyone is really interested (sold separately).
In short, I've got over a year of elbow grease and $20,000 into parts and improvements for this boat, but now it's time to give it a new home. I winterized it last fall and put it in the water on Memorial weekend. It fired right up after coaxing fuel through the new water separating fuel filter and is ready for a great season of skiing or wake boarding.
