Rusty Malinoski Wins Beijing Title!
June 26, 2006
This World Cup stop was held at the spectacular Foban-Emin Water Ski Club located just forty minutes north of the Olympic City of Beijing in China. Constructed just four years ago, this first class facility delivered one of the highest standards yet both on and off the water.
Malinoski Beats HarfThe final stage of the Beijing World Cup Stop was the Pro Men Head-to-Head challenge. MasterCraft's Rusty Malinoski (Canada) pulled off the biggest surprise of the day by beating Phillip Soven (USA) for one of the final two places in the challenge. Danny Harf (USA) beat World Champion Jeff Weatherall (NZL) for the other finals slot. In a Malinoski versus Harf duel, Malinoski crushed Harf with some stunning tricks in an astonishing effort to win...he truly demonstrated his raw strength, talent and board skills to seize the Beijing title!
Forces CombinedThe combined forces of the Foba-Emin Water Ski Club and the Chinese Water Ski Association created a very high quality World Cup Stop. The excellent hospitality and efficient organization will certainly encourage waterski and wakeboard athletes to return to China again as soon as the opportunity arises.
The next Wakeboard World Cup Stop will be in Singapore on September 30th - October 1st.
