Pro Wakeboard Tour - Competition Heats Up!

The weather was terrific and the competition was hot during the first stop of the Pro Wakeboard Tour on the beautiful shores of Lake Allatoona this weekend in Acworth, Georgia. Top contenders Rusty Malinoski, Andrew Adkison, Phillip Soven, JD Webb and Chad Sharpe battled it out in the semi-finals on Sunday. Soven snagged the title after the final round in a head-to-head heat with 2006 WWA World champion Rusty Malinoski. The PWT is shaping up to be the competition of the summer…stay tuned as the pros continue to clash in the most exciting event on the water-
On another note…
After battling injuries in recent years, legendary rider Zane Schwenk was back in top form in Acworth. In recent months, Zane has been riding like a champ and proved that by winning his heat in the first round and making it to the quarter finals. Be sure to keep an eye out for Zane and his ride to the top-
Acworth was the first event of the 2007 MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour. Following Acworth, the tour will proceed westward to Forth Worth, Texas (June 1-3), Twin Cities, Minnesota (June 16-17) and Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada (July 7-8), and it concludes in Portland, Oregon (July 21-22). The dash to be the world's top rider features a $10,000 bonus for the season winner.
