Electrical Engineer

Description:
MasterCraft Boat Company, the world's leading sport luxury boat manufacturer, has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer. This position is responsible for generating designs and developing electrical systems for MasterCraft & Hydra-Sports product.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Define requirements and component specifications for panels, wiring harnesses & electrical systems
  • Insure component and system compliance with industry standards
  • Conceive new electrical and electronic system designs for customer convenience and efficient manufacturability
  • Conduct product research on electrical and electronic equipment and components
  • Research and integrate new equipment design as industry trends allow
  • Interface with propulsion and project groups for system layout
  • Generate engineering drawings for new designs and approve all electrical prints for boat release
  • Review and approve load calculations based on ABYC standards for AC and DC electrical systems
  • Determine shore power configuration and generator size (120-V,240-V, 50/60 Hertz)
  • Determine battery and charging system requirements for DC electrical system
  • Determine grounding and galvanic protection requirements for AC and DC electrical systems
  • Approve main and distribution panel boards for AC electrical systems
  • Provide technical expertise and insure consistency electrical documentation, methods and practices
  • Generate Engineering Change Notice's (ECN) as required
  • Review and approve owner's manuals for accurate and complete electrical descriptions and information
  • Attend ABYC electrical project technical committee
  • Perform final electrical design verification test
  • Insure timely and adequate completion of all applicable phases of project
  • Facilitate training seminars for assembly personal informing them of new construction requirements and sound practices commensurate with MasterCraft / Hydra-Sports standards

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Training in computer aided design
  • Working knowledge of PC based software (Word, Excel, AutoCad, etc.)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in transportation or product design with knowledge of production processes
  • Customer service and dealer technical assistance and technical writing
  • Must interface well with other employee's departments throughout the organization, outside vendors as well as dealers and retail customers
  • Problem solving and decision making abilities
